Product Info

Because the majority of our students were not yet born when 9/11 occurred, it is important that they learn about history so that it is not repeated. I've compiled a series of resources that give students an overview of what happened that day, and how it changed The United States forever.

Students will learn about the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. They will also focus on the stories of survivors, President George W. Bush's speech, various covers of The New Yorker post 9/11, and more.

This is a Google Slides resource which can be shared with students, printed, and/or FULLY EDITED.

When you purchase this resource, you will receive:

1. An original, 3-page reading passage on what happened on 9/11, how many lives were lost, and both the economy and safety measures changed post 9/11.

2. A link to George W. Bush's speech on the evening of 9/11, as well as a link to his speech at ground zero.

3. Rhetorical analysis questions for George W. Bush's speech

4. A link to 2 podcasts with the stories from people who experienced 9/11, first hand, in very different ways.

5. Analysis questions for both podcasts

6. A link to cover art from The New Yorker for students to analyze and think about the ways in which it relates to the aftermath of 9/11

7. A link to the 9/11 museum's survivor stories page and questions that prompt students to think critically about the stories they choose to read/listen to

8. Fully editable Google Slides presentation of everything listed

9. Answer guide (when applicable)

***KEEP IN MIND: Some of the events/stories in this 9/11 resource can be triggering for some students. Always pre-read and modify where appropriate. You know your students best. :) ***
