Reading Comprehension Passage with Questions | Article and Questions

I love to have my students think about the reason behind WHY we even bother reading literature. I typically work this lesson in at the beginning of the semester, but it’s something that could be used at any point and with any unit. It would also work well when teaching theme and how we apply the lessons we learn from the reading to our own lives. 

I've included an article all about the benefits of deep reading + 10 multiple choice questions and one constructed response question. I've also added a vocabulary practice and 5 pre-reading questions to get your students thinking about the text as well as their own lives.
