3 games to engage your students in an active, competitive review 

- Spelling Success: Informational Text + Social Emotional Learning

Students read a short, informational article about Lebron James' new school. Then, they answer questions in order to find 5 key "pillars of success" (Respect, Self Control, Integrity, Compassion, Responsibility). Once these words are filled in, students will have the opportunity to research the meaning of the words and apply that knowledge to real-life scenarios. 

- Literary Magic Square

Students are given a 9 boxes with literary element definitions and a word bank with the words to "match". Each word has a point value. Therefore, this is a self-checking activity. When each diagonal, vertical, and horizontal line adds up to 15, students know they have all of the correct answers. 

- Color by Number: Literary Elements in Song Lyrics

Matching Game where students match song lyrics with the appropriate literary element. Once the lyrics are matched with the element, students add the numbers and receive a total. The total correlates with a number and the number will indicate a color. When students appropriately color the sheet, they will be able to reveal a secret picture!
